Mark Schofield shows Matt Waldman’s RSP readers why LSU QB Joe Burrow’s rise as a top prospect for the 2020 NFL Draft is for real
Not to be confused with The Rise of Skywalker…
But now that more and more people are turning their attention to the NFL Draft, the question I get most often—whether on radio hits, during podcast appearances or even just at the Thanksgiving dinner table—is this: Is the rise of Joe Burrow real?
The question is understandable. This summer Burrow was viewed by many as a draft outsider. A fringe draftable prospect who would need a great season to just get a Senior Bowl invitation.
Now? He might not even need to go.
But is the rise real?
Watch this video from just some of his first half against Northwestern State. I know what you are going to say…the level of competition is not much. But he made throws and plays like this in Tuscaloosa against Alabama…
Seriously, just watch:
This rise is real.
