Matt Waldman, owner and author of the Rookie Scouting Portfolio and Senior Staff Writer at Footballguys.com discusses how he creates his 1,000+ page annual scouting publication, the Packers 2019 draft, and will answer audience questions.
I never thought about the fact that I’m a records manager. At least not until RSP subscriber Rick Gureski contacted me last fall.
Gureski is the President of Milwaukee’s Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA), and he saw the connection right away. He asked if I’d be willing to speak at an ARMA event about the records management process that I undertake as a small business owner.
I’ve been asked to speak about football, scouting, and fantasy sports, but an hour-long presentation on the RSP’s records management? I would have never guessed.
Even so, this is a topic of great importance to me as an analyst and an easy one to present. I told Gureski this will feel like my business will be getting a therapy session but in a banquet hall with an audience and some “small talk” about the NFL Draft and fantasy football during the final segment of the meeting.
This meeting is open to the public, and I’ve already heard from long-time readers in the area who plan on attending. So if you’re in the Milwaukee area and interested in learning about the evolution of the RSP’s record management as it relates to evaluating football players and the demands of a small business, sign up and be sure to say hello afterward.
