Matt Waldman’s RSP Views (June 29, 2018)

Matt Waldman’s Reads LIstens Views is back in a slightly new form. This post is devoted to recommended views of the week.

If you’re new to the Rookie Scouting Portfolio blog, welcome.  For years, I used to post links to pieces that I’ve found personally compelling or to content I hope will eventually scratch that itch when I get around to watching it.

After a two-year break, Reads Listens Views returns. You may not like everything listed here, but you’re bound to like something.

With the World Cup ongoing, this performance artist does some incredible tricks dribbling a ball. Stick around to the end to see him go Cirque du Soleil with the ball, his body, and a lampost.

I grew up on professional wrestling. One of the greatest modern performers is Kenta Kobashi. If you haven’t heard about him, you should read more about his career. Many of his moves are as inventive as you’ll see in the ring. Some he only used a few times during his career.

Quirky Sun by Bill Mayer. You can find more of his work at This is Colossal

Also at This is Colossal: “Banksy revisited his “Go Flock Yourself” piece from 2008, and created a new version as commentary on the current political situation in France and throughout Europe. Depicting a black girl painting a Victorian wallpaper pattern over a swastika, the artist is commenting on the way politicians are concealing wrongdoing and potentially fascist policies.”
