Matt Waldman’s RSP Boiler Room reveals how Rosen, a prominent QB prospect in the 2018 NFL Draft, uses his eyes to patiently set up defenders.
Josh Rosen has an aggressive mindset. I value this with quarterbacks even if the first time I saw Rosen, he threw multiple interceptions and two near the red zone because his aggression crossed the line to recklessness. However, it’s more difficult to pull aggression from a player than the tamp it back.
I was at the Rose Bowl for that multiple-interception game that Rosen had as a freshman. A year later, Rosen is learning to harness that aggression. He’s still targeting deep options that are too risky, but the ability to bait defenders and create open passing lanes in the red zone and the intermediate range of the field is there.
The video below is a nice progress report for a quarterback that many consider a top prospect for 2018. We’ll see if his 2018 tape builds on that perception.
