Eric Stoner and I study Darren Sproles, but first, we study a player who Emory Hunt says is used like Sproles in terms of system.

Donnel Pumphrey is the latest of a long string of players earning direct comparisons to Darren Sproles. The most sensible of these comparisons comes from Emory Hunt, who shared that Pumphrey is used in a similar way as Sproles when the K-State alum was tearing up college football several years ago.

Eric Stoner and I have a look at Pumphrey, discuss the value of gap schemes, the difficulties it presents to linebacker play, and we revisit Sproles’ awe-inspiring college tape.
