Matt Waldman’s RSP Boiler Room No.206: RB Travis Etienne (Clemson)

Matt Waldman’s RSP Boiler Room evaluates Clemson RB Travis Etienne, a game-breaking NFL Draft prospect who has added functional power to his craft.

Travis Etienne is the best running back prospect Clemson has produced since C.J. Spiller. A big-play back when he entered the ACC in 2017, Etienne added muscle and developed functional power that’s important for any potential pro.

If Etienne continues growing as an athlete and a football player, we might open that filter of Clemson greats to include the likes of Terry Allen and Kevin Mack. Allen is physically more in the style of Etienne. Prior to injuries that took their toll, Allen began his career with 6,558 yards from scrimmage and 58 touchdowns during his first 5 NFL seasons—including a 1,547-yard, 21-touchdown campaign in Washington back in 1996.

Here’s your first look at what I like about Etienne’s game and where it’s heading.
