Matt Waldman’s RSP Listens (July 13, 2018)

Matt Waldman’s Reads Listens Views is back in a slightly new form. This post is devoted to recommended listens of the week.

Welcome

If you’re new to the Rookie Scouting Portfolio blog, welcome.  For years, I used to post links to music that I enjoy.

After a two-year break, Reads Listens Views returns. You may not like everything listed here, but you’re bound to like something.

Johnny Griffin is known for his beefy tone and agile chops on the saxophone. This is an excellent band that plays well together. I particularly like the opening track.

A one-man-band who is musical and entertaining.

Good old track No.5 from Maxwell…

A former college football player, Gregory Porter got hurt and eventually became a Grammy-winning jazz singer. Here’s a tribute to Sting.
