RSP Film Room No.66: Paxton Lynch w/David Igono

PaxtonLynchB

Two-thirds of the RSP staff take a deeper look at the Memphis quarterback’s performance in the upset of No.13 Ole Miss.

RSP contributor David Igono (@d1gono) was a strong safety for West Virginia and did a stint in the Arena League. As his football career as a player wound down, his passion for the game intensified–particularly film study.

Igono began corresponding with me nine months ago. This fall he began writing for the RSP blog about the central focus of his tape grinding obsession: quarterbacks. You can find his analysis of 2016 QB prospects at this link.

When Igono and I decided to do an RSP Film Room, I suggested Paxton Lynch. The physical tools are NFL caliber–some of them straight-up tantalizing. The quarterbacking traits also have promise. This is a long film session (2 hours) and probably more selfishly one where we forget there might be an audience there.

So we present it to you with that cautionary statement and if you seek shorter fare on Lynch, I’ve provided it here and here:
