May 5 Update

Here are excerpts of a letter I sent to Darkness to Light on May 4, 2012:

To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Matt Waldman. I am a freelance writer and blogger. I author a blog called The Rookie Scouting Portfolio (www.mattwaldmanrsp.com) where I sell a football publication with the same name. The publication is an analysis of players entering the NFL Draft…

This year, I promised my readers that 10 percent of my publication sales for 2012 would be donated to Darkness to Light to combat sexual abuse. The first enclosed of $952.00 is the amount generated from those sales thus far. Another check of at least $300 will be on the way within the next 4-6 weeks once I reconcile my accounts.

My publication has a strong audience in the hobby of fantasy football and when the owners of the Fantasy Football Players Championship, a high-stakes fantasy event, learned about my pledge, they sent me a check for $1750.00 to donate on behalf of my campaign.

Thank you for the work you’re doing…I admire what you’re doing and proud to be supporting your efforts.

On June 13th, another $532.12 was donated to Darkness to Light. I expect at least another $150-$200 being sent to the organization when I reconcile at the end of July.
